Dear Diary

Hey there 😀! I am so glad that you are here. I am Kahlyah and I want to personally welcome you to The D.C. Diaries. This is a chiropractic lifestyle blog where I will be talking about the nitty gritty of navigating life while on my journey to becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic. Before I start rambling about the everyday actions of my life and school, I want to tell you a little bit about myself.

I am a native Georgia girl, born in Savannah and raised in Atlanta. I started my blog after I completed my first year of Chiropractic School, became independent and moved out of my mother’s house. At the time, I felt like there was not many resources available for students in my shoes who were experiencing a lot of changes in their lives but still trying to navigate the daily stresses of school and everyday life. I want to document my journey and make the distinct path to becoming a Chiropractor less daunting, less intimidating and more of an attainable goal. I want to make the path for prospective and current students less of a challenge. Today, there are not many chiropractic blogs to spread the art and benefits of chiropractic care. I want to become a pioneer in creating this space. I want to provide more than just educational and chiropractic focused content- blending my everyday life and passions to show how to navigate a rigorous healthcare program with personal life as well. My purpose is to empower others to live a balanced and fulfilling life while working towards your goals. As I share a transparent look into my everyday scholastic challenges, life accomplishments and what balancing life as an African American Chiropractic student may looks like, I want to empower people, especially women to go after all of their passion and goals without sacrificing their true happiness in the process of achieving their goals. With the content I decide to share, whether it deals with sharing studying tips for practicals, self care activities, or discussing new and emerging chiropractic research- I hope to inspire others to embrace the fact that we were meant to be multifaceted individuals in both our professional and personal lives. We are meant to create the lives that we want to live and that includes cultivating a life that is well balanced and tailored to our everyday passions and hustle.
